Wendy Pollak is the most recent addition to our physical therapy team at Rakita Tomsic Physical Therapy, but is by no means a stranger to the Durango community. Wendy worked for 12 years at Mercy hospital's outpatient PT department before embarking on a professional traveling track. She spent the next 7 years working as a physical therapist in hospitals and clinics up and down the west coast from California to Washington state, going as far west as Hawaii before returning to her Durango home.
Wendy graduated from the University of N.M. in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry in 1988 and received her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from Duke University, Durham, N.C. in 1992. She has attended over 30 continuing education courses since 1992, all the while honing her manual therapy and clinical skills. She was an instructor at the Fort Lewis College Department of Exercise Physiology from 2000-2002, and has delivered multiple presentations to the general community on a variety of rehabilitation topics.
An outdoor enthusiast, Wendy appreciates the active lifestyle that the Four Corners area has to offer - enjoying hiking, biking and camping during the summer season and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing over the winter months.
